About the Neighborhood

Living in Boone Creek East

Boone Creek East is the busiest home market in Lexington — the broad southeast side where lakefront streets, new construction, and established family neighborhoods all trade under one name. Whatever you're looking for, this side of town probably sells a version of it.
The area grew up around its water: Jacobson Park's lake on one side and Lake Ellerslie — a private reservoir ringed by homes — on the other. Established subdivisions filled in through the '80s and '90s, and building never really stopped; new streets are still being added while the older ones hold their value.

Inside Boone Creek East

  • The range here is the story. The Peninsula and Ellerslie at Delong put you on or near the water — some of the southeast side's most distinctive addresses. Chilesburg and Harper Woods deliver the established family-street experience. And new construction keeps adding options at the edges.

What they share: the southeast side's practical lifestyle — good schools, Hamburg's retail minutes away, and a straight shot to downtown.

Schools

Schools in Boone Creek East

Assigned Schools

Ratings below are Niche's, as reported by homes.com's guide. Elementary options include Brenda Cowan Elementary (A-minus) and Squires Elementary (A-minus), among four serving the area. Most students continue to Edythe Jones Hayes Middle School (A) and Henry Clay High School (A-minus), home of a selective Liberal Arts Academy. A smaller section of the area is assigned to Tates Creek Middle and Tates Creek High instead — one more reason the address-level check matters.
